So sad !
Take contact with a french lawyer...in any case it could be helpful.
We have a law against " private property privation" , your lawyer could ask a " referé" judgment. It's a speed up procedure for emergency case.

Explain that you, or your wife, needs this car...for work, or anything, if it's justified you could get a quick decision of justice department to get back your property.
I hope this situation will end quickly *63*

Thank you all for your kind suggestions.
I apologize for my French not being up to par for many here. I am an American producing wine in Burgundy. I have never taken a language course for French and basically taught myself from reading books from the 19th century and from watching movies from the 1950s and 1960's. Either way, I apologize for writing as much as I did, I was mainly writing this to inform other BMW owners and this is why I took the risk. Also, my computer is not allowing as much use as I would like with accent marks so I have had to fall back on simpler and less ideal word usage.

I will take the kind advice of those that focused more on this unbelievable situation instead of my punctuation and grammer.

Have a great evening

There's no concern for your how to write.

Especially you have to make the effort to write in French

We wish that it suits more quickly for you
